Occupational therapy can help with a wide range of conditions. I Can Pediatric OT specializes in autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, trauma/adverse childhood experiences, mental health conditions, and all forms of childhood neurodivergence.
During your first occupational therapy session, you can expect to undergo an evaluation that includes an assessment of your abilities and limitations. Your therapist will work with you to identify your goals and develop a personalized treatment plan based on your needs and preferences.
Communicate honestly, fill out forms, remain accessible during sessions, and follow recommendations. Hands-on participation from caregiver is client dependent and may vary.
The length of occupational therapy treatment depends on the individual and their specific needs. Some individuals may require short-term therapy, while others may require ongoing therapy to manage their condition and maintain their level of function. Your therapist will work with you to determine the appropriate length of treatment for your needs.
We recommend a starter program of 8 sessions (1 evaluation, 7 treatments).
Evaluations last 50-70 mins. Treatment sessions are available for 45, 60, and 90 minutes. Service time may include discussion, education, and documentation
